Tabula Rasa’s Alpha Pack Calls It Quits
星期日, 08月 31st, 2008Citing reasons ranging from interest in other MMOs to disappointment in Tabula Rasa’s current lackluster status, eminent TR player group Alpha Pack has retired from the game.
Far from a simple MMO guild, the Alpha Pack served as a liaison between players and the game’s developers. Many of the game’s most successful changes and additions were the direct result of Alpha Pack’s involvement.
“The
program had potential, but much like Tabula Rasa itself, that potential
went unrealized,” wrote a former Alpha Pack member on IGN’s Tabula Rasa Vault.
Reasons for the group’s departure were understandably diplomatic, though one can’t help but notice a possible correlation between yesterday’s massively successful Age of Conan launch and this exodus of hardcore MMO fans from their prior game of choice.

It’s a good thing that Nintendo has some deep pockets because they’ve been forced to dig in and withdraw $21 million in patent infringement fines. The small East Texas gaming company, Anascape Ltd, filed a lawsuit against Nintendo of America back in 2006 claiming that Nintendo had infringed on their motion sensing patent. The federal jury recently ruled in their favor.
I’ve gotten a BUNCH of emails for people complaining about the cost of Sims 2 and asking me to somehow wave my magic computer wand and make is so they can download Sims 2…for free.
