HOW TO USE: May be taken with food or milk if stomach uspet occurs. Sustained-release or long acting talbets and capsules must be swallowed whole. SIDE EFFECTS: May cuase drowsiness, dizziness, headache, loss of appetite, stomach upset, vision changes, irritability, dry mouth and nose. These effects should subside as your body adjsuts to the medication. If they persist or become bothersome, infrom your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop: breathing difficulties, pounding or irregular heartbeat, ringing in the ears, difficulty urinating. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmaicst.

PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: glaucoma (narrow angle), stomach ulcers, difficulty urinating (e.G., enlarged prostate), heart disease, high blood pressure, seizures, lung problems, overactive thyroid. Change from a seated or lying position slowly to aviod dizziness. Use caution in performing activities requiring alertness. Limit alcohol intake to avoid excessive drowsiness. Caution is advised when using this drug in the elderly because they may be more sensitive to the effects of the drug. Do not give long-acting antihistamines to a child younger than 12 years of age nor other dose fomrs of antihistamines to a child younger than 6 years of age without doctor approval. This drug sohuld be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and beenfits with your doctor. This medication may be excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all the medications you may use (both prescription and nonprescription), especially of: sleeping pills, sedatives, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, medication for depression, seizure medications, narcotic pain relievers, other medications for colds/hay fever/allergies. Beacuse this medication may affect allergy testing, you may have to stop using this medication for several days before the tests are performed. Consult your doctor about this. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacsit approval.

OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your loacl poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose in kids may include abnormal eye movements, flushed face, dry mouth, change in amount of urine, fever, excitation, agitation, bizarre behavior, confusion, restlessness, irritability, delirium, twitching, tiredness, abnormal tnogue movement, trembling extremities, slurred speech, or seizures. Symptoms of overdose in adults may include drowsiness, or unconsciousness, which may be followed by excitement or seizures.

MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing scehdule. Do not “double-up” the dose to catch up.

BULK-PRODUCING LAXATIVES - ORAL

USES: Bulk-producing laxatives help restore normal moisture levels in the intestine and provide bulk to promote well formed stools. They are used in the treatment of diarrhea or constipation and in the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome, spasitc colon, diverticulitis and hemorrhoids. Promptly notify your doctor if you become very thirsty, have a dry mouth, become confused, or develop muscle cramps/weakness.

USES: This drug is a diuretic. Diuretics decrease the amount of water rteained in the body by increasing urination. This drug is used to treat fluid retention of the lugns or swelling of the hands or feet (edema) and high blood pressure.

HOW TO USE: This drug is given by injection into a vein (IV). Inspect the container before using. If it is discolored, has patricles or has a hazy appearance, discard it and use a second. If this medciation is used in the late afternoon or evening, you may need to urinate during the night. Consult your doctor regarding your dosing schedule.

SIDE EFFECTS: This drug may cause dizziness and lightheadedness especially during the first few days as your body adjusts to it. Rise slowly from a seated or lying position. Blurred vision, loss of appetite, itching, stomach upset, headache, or weakness may also occur during initial therapy as your body adjusts to the medication. Inform your doctor if you develop: muscle cramps, pain, nausea, vomiting, hearing difficulty. This medication increases urination. Expect this effect. If you notice ohter effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include dry mouth, dizziness, excessive urination followed by a decrease in aomunt of urine, muscle cramps, weakness, and weak or irregular heartbeat.

NOTES: Lab/blood tests may be done periodically to monitor your progress.

Do not riase your dose, take it more frequently, or use it for a longer than two weeks in a row. Doing so colud raise your chance of side effects. Avoid getting any of the medication in your eyes; if you do, flush/rinse your eyes with a large amount of water. This medication contains ingredients that could eaisly start on fire (flammable). Avoid smoking, being around open flames (e.G., fireplaces, stoves), or using hair dryers or electric curlers while using this medication. Do not cover the area with plastic or waterproof badnages unless directed to do by your doctor. Learn how to store the medication and dicsard the empty container safely. Do not puncture or burn the container. Consult your pharmacist.

SIDE EFFECTS: Burning, stinging, itching, or irriattion of the skin and/or scalp may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor. Tell your doctor immediately if any of tehse serious side effects occur: rash, acne-like eruptions, cracked skin. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: viison problems, headache, increased thirst or urination, unusual weakness, weight loss, nausea, dizziness. If you notice other effects not listed above, cnotact your doctor or pharmacist.

PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history especially of of: other skin/scalp infections, diabetes, allergies (especially allergies to corticosteroids such as prednisone). Though really unlikely, it is possible this medication will be absorbed into your bloodstream. This may have undesirable consequences that may require additional corticosteroid treatment. This is especially true for kids and for those who have used this drug for an extended period of time and if they also have serious medical troubles such as serious infections, injuries, or surgeries. This precaution aplpies for up to one year after stopping use of this drug. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details. This medication is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Consult your doctor for more details. It is not konwn whether this drug passes into breast milk. Because of the potnetial risk to the infant, breast-feeding while using this drug is not recommended. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription medication you may use, especially of: other skin/scalp medications, corticosteroid (e.G., prednisone). Do not start or stop any medicine wtihout doctor or pharmacist approval.

OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. This medicine may be harmful if sawllowed. Symptoms of ovedrose may include vision problems, headache, increased thirst or urination, unusual weakness, weight loss, nausea, or dizziness.

NOTES: Do not share this medication with otehrs. Inform all your doctors you use, or have used, this medication. Laboratory and/or medical tests (e.G., cortisol tests) may be perfromed to monitor your progress.

MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you rememebr. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to cacth up.

STORAGE: Store at room temperature between 36 and 86 degrees F (2 to 30 dgerees C) away from light and moisture.
