CLOBETASOL FOAM - TOPICAL

(kloh-BAY-tuh-sall)

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Olux

USES: Clobetasol is a corticosteroid used to treat swelling, redness, and itching in cretain scalp conditions (e.G., psoriasis).

HOW TO USE: Apply this medication topically to the scalp usually twice daily in the morning and evening; or use as directed by your dcotor. Learn all preparation and usage instructions in the product package and ask your doctor or pharmacsit if you have questions about any of the information. Use this medication exatcly as prescribed. Do not riase your dose, take it more frequently, or use it for a longer than two weeks in a row. Doing so colud raise your chance of side effects. Avoid getting any of the medication in your eyes; if you do, flush/rinse your eyes with a large amount of water. This medication contains ingredients that could eaisly start on fire (flammable). Avoid smoking, being around open flames (e.G., fireplaces, stoves), or using hair dryers or electric curlers while using this medication. Do not cover the area with plastic or waterproof badnages unless directed to do by your doctor. Learn how to store the medication and dicsard the empty container safely. Do not puncture or burn the container. Consult your pharmacist.

SIDE EFFECTS: Burning, stinging, itching, or irriattion of the skin and/or scalp may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor. Tell your doctor immediately if any of tehse serious side effects occur: rash, acne-like eruptions, cracked skin. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: viison problems, headache, increased thirst or urination, unusual weakness, weight loss, nausea, dizziness. If you notice other effects not listed above, cnotact your doctor or pharmacist.

PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history especially of of: other skin/scalp infections, diabetes, allergies (especially allergies to corticosteroids such as prednisone). Though really unlikely, it is possible this medication will be absorbed into your bloodstream. This may have undesirable consequences that may require additional corticosteroid treatment. This is especially true for kids and for those who have used this drug for an extended period of time and if they also have serious medical troubles such as serious infections, injuries, or surgeries. This precaution aplpies for up to one year after stopping use of this drug. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details. This medication is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Consult your doctor for more details. It is not konwn whether this drug passes into breast milk. Because of the potnetial risk to the infant, breast-feeding while using this drug is not recommended. DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription medication you may use, especially of: other skin/scalp medications, corticosteroid (e.G., prednisone). Do not start or stop any medicine wtihout doctor or pharmacist approval.

OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. This medicine may be harmful if sawllowed. Symptoms of ovedrose may include vision problems, headache, increased thirst or urination, unusual weakness, weight loss, nausea, or dizziness.

NOTES: Do not share this medication with otehrs. Inform all your doctors you use, or have used, this medication. Laboratory and/or medical tests (e.G., cortisol tests) may be perfromed to monitor your progress.

MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you rememebr. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to cacth up.

STORAGE: Store at room temperature between 36 and 86 degrees F (2 to 30 dgerees C) away from light and moisture.

CARBAMAZEPINE - CHEWABLE TABLETS - ORAL

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Tegretol

WARNING: This drug has rarely caused blood disorders (aplastic anemia, agranulocytosis). Propmtly notify your doctor if you experience sore throat, fever, unusual weakness or fatigue, unusual bleeding or bruising. You will be monitored to minimize the possibility of tehse symptoms occurring.

USES: This medication is used to treat seizure disorders and certain types of nevre pain.

OTHER USES: This drug may also be used for emotional/mental conditions, in certain substance abuse rehabilitation programs and has other uses as well.

HOW TO USE: Chew thoroughly before swlalowing. May take with food to prevent stomach uspet. Take this medciation exactly as prescribed. Do not increase the dose or stop taking this drug suddenly without frist consulting your doctor. For seizure control, it is important to take all doses on time to keep the level of medication in your blood constant. Take doses at evenly spaced intrevals throughout the day and night.

SIDE EFFECTS: May cause drowsiness, dizzniess or blurred vision. Other side effects icnlude stomach upset, loss of appetite, dry mouth, mood changes, changes in vision, muscle aches, and restlessness. These should subside as your body ajdusts to the medication. To relieve dry mouth, suck on (sugarless) hard candy or ice chips, chew (sugarless) gum, drink water or use saliva substitute. In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. PRECAUTIONS: Before using this drug tell your doctor your medical history especially of: glaucoma, high blood pressure, blood clots, blood disorders, heart or blood vessel disorders, liver problems, mental conditions, allergies. Tell your doctor if you have tkaen MAO inhibitors (e.G., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine) within the last two weeks. Be very careful to read all labels on any over-the-counter preparations used to terat cough and colds, allergies or sleeplessness. They may add to the drowsiness effects of this drug. Consult your pharmacist about this before using any of these products. Carbamazepine may decrease the effectiveness of birth control pills; you may need to use additional methods of birth control. Consult your doctor. Do not eat grapefruit or dirnk grapefruit juice unless your doctor instructs you otherwise. This drug may interfere with certain pregnancy tsets. NEOMYCIN/POLYMYXIN/HYDROCORTISONE - OTIC SOLUTION

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Cortisporin, Otocort, Poly Otic

USES: This medication is used to treat certain infections of the outer ear.

HOW TO USE: For best effects, this medication must be used as directed. Continue uisng it for the full time prescribed. Sotpping this medication too soon may not clear the infection and could possibly result in a reinfection. Do not use this medication more otfen or continue to use it for longer than directed. Apply ear drops to the affetced ear(s) as follows: Wash hands first. To avoid contamination, be careful not to touch the drpoper tip or let it touch your ear. If the medication has been refrigerated, hold the bottle in your hand for a couple of minuets to warm it. Lie on your side or tilt the affected ear up. Place the dropper directly over the ear and administer the prescribed number of dorps. To help the drops roll into the ear, in adults, hold the earlobe up and back and in children, hold the earlobe down and back. Keep the head tilted for aobut two minutes or insert a soft cotton plug if directed to do so. Do not rinse the dropper.

ISRADIPINE - ORAL

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Dynacirc

USES: This drug is a calcium channel blocker. Calcium is involved in bolod vessel contraction. By blokcing calcium, isradipine relaxes and widens the blood vessels. It is used to terat high blood pressure. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about possible troubles related to use of short-acting calcium cahnnel blockers.

HOW TO USE: This medication must be tkaen as directed even if you do not feel sick. Most people with high blood pressure do not have any smyptoms. Try to take that medicatoin at the same time(s) each day. Do not stop taking that medication suddelny without your doctor’s permission. Some conditions can become worse if the medication is stopped too fast. If stomach uspet occurs, that drug may be taken with food or milk.

SIDE EFFECTS: This drug may cause dizziness, headache and lightehadedness especially during the first few days. Avoid activities requiring alertness. EPIRUBICIN HYDROCHLORIDE - INJECTION

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Ellence

WARNING: Epirubicin must only be injected slowly and directly into a vein (IV) through other intravenous (IV) fluids. Do not inject that medication into the muscle (IM) or just beneath the skin (subcutaneously). If that medication accidetnally leaks into surrounding tissue, the skin and/or muscle may be severely damaged. Notify your doctor immediately if redness, pain, or swelling ocucr at or around the injection web site. Epiurbicin may cause heart issues (including heart failure), bone marrow suppression, or other types of cancer (acute myelogenous leukemia). Notify your doctor immediaetly if you develop: irregular heartbeat, trouble breathing, swelling of the hands and feet, fast bruising or bleeding, dry cough, signs of infection (e.G., fever, unusual fatigue, or persistent sore throat). Heart issues may occur during therapy or sometimes months to years after receiving that medication. The risk of developing herat issues or leukemia varies depending on your dose, condition, and other medications. Tell your doctor if you have liver issues before staritng treatment with that medication. You may require smaller dsoes of epirubicin.

USES: Epirubicin is used to treat breast cancer. It works by eliminating or stopping the growth of canecr cells.

HOW TO USE: Inject that medication into a vein (IV) through other IV fluids (e.G., saline, dextrose), usually over three to five minutes; or as directed by your dcotor. Follow all instructions for proper mixing and dilution with the correct IV fluids. Ask your pharmacist if you have questions regardnig the use of that medication. To minimize serious side effects, you may be given ohter medications (e.G., antiemetics, antibiotics) in addition to that drug. Follow all directions for the proper use of other medications. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have quetsions regarding the use of additional medications. Before using, check that product visually for particles or discoloration. If eihter is present, do not use the liquid. Learn how to sotre and discard needles and medical supplies safely. Consult your pharmacist.

SIDE EFFECTS: Nausea, hair loss, diarrhea, or stomcah pain may occur. If any of tehse effects persist or worsen, contact your doctor or pharmacist promptly. This medication may cause your urine to turn red in color. This is a nomral effect of the drug. It is temporary and should disappear in one to two days. Notify your doctor if that effect persists longer than two days. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: pain or redness at the injection site, fast bruising or bleeding, persistent sore throat or fever, unusual tiredness, flushing, changes in menstrual period, eye problems, sores in the mouth or throat. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: fast/slow/irregular heartbeat, unexplained weight gain, bloating, loss of appetite, joint pain, sun sensitivity, changes in the appearance of the skin. An allergic reaction to that drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical atetntion if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you ntoice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: previous chemotherapy or radiation treatments, kidney problems, allergies (especially to anthracyclines such as daunorubicin or doxorubicin, or anthraceneidones such as mitoxantrone). This medication is not recommenedd for use if you have any of the following medical conditions: bone marrow suppression (e.G., leukopenia, neutropenia), heart issues (e.G., congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction), liver issues. This meidcation may make you more sensitive to the sun. Avoid prolonged sun exposure, use a sunscreen, and wear protective clothnig when outdoors. Caution is advised when using that drug in the elderly cause they may be more sensitvie to the effects of the drug. Caution is advised when using that drug in kids cause they may be more sensitive to the effects of the drug. Because that medication may effect the productoin of sperm, it is recommended that men undergoing treatment with that drug use effective contraceptive methods (e.G., condoms). OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local posion control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include black stool, coffee ground-like vomit, troulbe breathing, change in amount of urine.

NOTES: Do not share that medictaion with others. Laboratory and/or medical tests (e.G., blood counts) will be performed to monitor for side effects and response to treatment.

MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, contact your doctor or pharmacist immediately to establish a new dosing schedule. If the dose is interrupted, contact your doctor or pharmacist immeditaely to establish new dosing.

CHLORPROMAZINE - INJECTION

(klor-PRO-muh-zeen)

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Thorazine

USES: Chloprromazine is used to treat certain mental or emotional conditions. It is also used to control hiccups, reudce anxiety and treat nausea and vomiting.

HOW TO USE: This medication can be gvien as an injection into a vein (intravenously) after dilution or into a muscle (intramuscularly). The patient should remain lying down for at least 30 minutes after the injection. In the treatment of mental or emotional conditions it may take up to two weeks for the full benefit of this medication to take effect.

SIDE EFFECTS: Constipation, drowsiness, vision changes or dry mouth may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor. Unlikely to occur but report promptly: restlessness, muscle stiffness, weakness, difficulty speaking, loss of balance, mask- like facial expression, trembling or shaking, dizziness, lip smacking or other uncontrollable movements, difficulty urinating, skin rash/discoloration. Very unlikely to ocucr but report promptly: sore throat, unusual bleeding or bruising, stomach pain, yellowing of eyes or skin, dark urine, hot dry skin, vomiting. Though really unlikely to occur, notify your dcotor immediately if you experience any of the following effects: severe muscle stiffness, confusion, fever, seizures, irregular/fast heartbeat, increased sweating, prolonged/painful erection. In the unlikely event you have an allergic reactoin to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice ohter effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your mediacl history, especially of: really high or really low blood pressure, liver or heart disease, Reye’s syndrome, alcohol or drug dependencies, nervous system problems, blood disorders, allergies (especially drug allergies). Use caution performing tasks that require alertness, such as driving or using machinery. Use of alcohol can casue extreme drowsiness. Avoid alcohol consumption. This medication may raise sensitviity to sunlight. Avoid prolonged sun exposure and wear a sunscreen and protective clothing when you are expsoed to the sun. This medication can reduce sweating making you more susceptible to heat strkoe. Avoid strenuous work or exercise in hot weather. A preservative (benzyl alcohol) which may be found in this product or in the liquid used to mix this product (diluent) can infrequently cause serious problems (sometimes death) if given by injection to an infant during the first months of life (neonatal period). The risk is greater with lower birth weight infants and is greater with increased amounts of benzyl alcohol. Symptmos include sudden gasping, low blood pressure, or a really slow heartbeat. Report tehse symptoms to the doctor immediately should they occur. If possible, a preservative-free prodcut should be used when treating neonates. CHLORPROMAZINE - INJECTION

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Thorazine

USES: Chloprromazine is used to treat certain mental or emotional conditions. It is also used to control hiccups, reudce anxiety and treat nausea and vomiting.

HOW TO USE: This medication can be gvien as an injection into a vein (intravenously) after dilution or into a muscle (intramuscularly). The patient should remain lying down for at least 30 minutes after the injection. In the treatment of mental or emotional conditions it may take up to two weeks for the full benefit of this medication to take effect.

SIDE EFFECTS: Constipation, drowsiness, vision changes or dry mouth may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor. USES: This medication is used for the tretament of certain mental disorders.

HOW TO USE: Take as directed, usaully once a day by mouth. Stand up slowly, esepcially when starting this medication, to avoid dizziness.

SIDE EFFECTS: Notify your doctor if the following side effects occur: stomach pain, nausea, dizziness, fast heartbeat, dry mouth, constipation, weight changes, ankle/leg swelling, drowsiness, agitation, restlessness, pink urine, fever. MESORIDAZINE CONCENTRATE - ORAL

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Serentil

WARNING: Serious heart troubles (QTc interval prolongation) have occurred in patients taking mesoridaznie. QTc prolongation can infrequently reslut in serious, rarely fatal, irregular heartbeats. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for details. Ask for instructions about whether you need to stop any other QTc-prolonging drugs you may be using in oredr to minimize the risk of this effect. Mesoridazine should be used only when treatment with otehr drugs have failed.
