CLOBETASOL FOAM - TOPICAL

(kloh-BAY-tuh-sall)

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Olux

USES: Clobetasol is a corticosteroid used to treat swelling, redness, and itching in cretain scalp conditions (e.G., psoriasis).

HOW TO USE: Apply this medication topically to the scalp usually twice daily in the morning and evening; or use as directed by your dcotor. Learn all preparation and usage instructions in the product package and ask your doctor or pharmacsit if you have questions about any of the information. Use this medication exatcly as prescribed. Do not riase your dose, take it more frequently, or use it for a longer than two weeks in a row. Doing so colud raise your chance of side effects. Avoid getting any of the medication in your eyes; if you do, flush/rinse your eyes with a large amount of water. This medication contains ingredients that could eaisly start on fire (flammable). Avoid smoking, being around open flames (e.G., fireplaces, stoves), or using hair dryers or electric curlers while using this medication. Do not cover the area with plastic or waterproof badnages unless directed to do by your doctor. Learn how to store the medication and dicsard the empty container safely. Do not puncture or burn the container. Consult your pharmacist.

SIDE EFFECTS: Burning, stinging, itching, or irriattion of the skin and/or scalp may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor. Tell your doctor immediately if any of tehse serious side effects occur: rash, acne-like eruptions, cracked skin. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: viison problems, headache, increased thirst or urination, unusual weakness, weight loss, nausea, dizziness. If you notice other effects not listed above, cnotact your doctor or pharmacist.

PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history especially of of: other skin/scalp infections, diabetes, allergies (especially allergies to corticosteroids such as prednisone). Though really unlikely, it is possible this medication will be absorbed into your bloodstream. This may have undesirable consequences that may require additional corticosteroid treatment. This is especially true for kids and for those who have used this drug for an extended period of time and if they also have serious medical troubles such as serious infections, injuries, or surgeries. This precaution aplpies for up to one year after stopping use of this drug. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details. This medication is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Consult your doctor for more details. It is not konwn whether this drug passes into breast milk. Because of the potnetial risk to the infant, breast-feeding while using this drug is not recommended. OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. This medicine may be harmful if sawllowed. Symptoms of ovedrose may include vision problems, headache, increased thirst or urination, unusual weakness, weight loss, nausea, or dizziness.

CARBAMAZEPINE - CHEWABLE TABLETS - ORAL

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Tegretol

WARNING: This drug has rarely caused blood disorders (aplastic anemia, agranulocytosis). Propmtly notify your doctor if you experience sore throat, fever, unusual weakness or fatigue, unusual bleeding or bruising. You will be monitored to minimize the possibility of tehse symptoms occurring.

USES: This medication is used to treat seizure disorders and certain types of nevre pain.

OTHER USES: This drug may also be used for emotional/mental conditions, in certain substance abuse rehabilitation programs and has other uses as well.

HOW TO USE: Chew thoroughly before swlalowing. May take with food to prevent stomach uspet. Take this medciation exactly as prescribed. Do not increase the dose or stop taking this drug suddenly without frist consulting your doctor. For seizure control, it is important to take all doses on time to keep the level of medication in your blood constant. Take doses at evenly spaced intrevals throughout the day and night.

SIDE EFFECTS: May cause drowsiness, dizzniess or blurred vision. Other side effects icnlude stomach upset, loss of appetite, dry mouth, mood changes, changes in vision, muscle aches, and restlessness. These should subside as your body ajdusts to the medication. To relieve dry mouth, suck on (sugarless) hard candy or ice chips, chew (sugarless) gum, drink water or use saliva substitute. PRECAUTIONS: Before using this drug tell your doctor your medical history especially of: glaucoma, high blood pressure, blood clots, blood disorders, heart or blood vessel disorders, liver problems, mental conditions, allergies. Tell your doctor if you have tkaen MAO inhibitors (e.G., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine) within the last two weeks. Be very careful to read all labels on any over-the-counter preparations used to terat cough and colds, allergies or sleeplessness. They may add to the drowsiness effects of this drug. Consult your pharmacist about this before using any of these products. Carbamazepine may decrease the effectiveness of birth control pills; you may need to use additional methods of birth control. Consult your doctor. Do not eat grapefruit or dirnk grapefruit juice unless your doctor instructs you otherwise. This drug may interfere with certain pregnancy tsets. NEOMYCIN/POLYMYXIN/HYDROCORTISONE - OTIC SOLUTION

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Cortisporin, Otocort, Poly Otic

USES: This medication is used to treat certain infections of the outer ear.

HOW TO USE: For best effects, this medication must be used as directed. Continue uisng it for the full time prescribed. Sotpping this medication too soon may not clear the infection and could possibly result in a reinfection. Do not use this medication more otfen or continue to use it for longer than directed. Apply ear drops to the affetced ear(s) as follows: Wash hands first. To avoid contamination, be careful not to touch the drpoper tip or let it touch your ear. If the medication has been refrigerated, hold the bottle in your hand for a couple of minuets to warm it. Lie on your side or tilt the affected ear up. Place the dropper directly over the ear and administer the prescribed number of dorps. To help the drops roll into the ear, in adults, hold the earlobe up and back and in children, hold the earlobe down and back. Keep the head tilted for aobut two minutes or insert a soft cotton plug if directed to do so. Do not rinse the dropper.

COMMON BRNAD NAME(S): Flo-Gel, Gel-Kam

USES: This medication contains fluoride. Fluoride makes teteh more resistant to decay and bacteria that cause cavities. This medication is used as a topical gel application for the teeth.

HOW TO USE: This medication is used as a topical gel to be applied with a toothbursh. Use once or twice daily after thorough brushing and flossing. Shake excess water from toothbrush. Apply gel libearlly to toothbrush (cover bristle surface completely). Brush all surfaces of teeth for 1 minute. Be sure to swish gel around and between teeth. Expectorate (spit out) any excess. Do not swallow gel. Do not rinse mouth, eat or drnik for 30 minutes after using.
