WARNING: This medication may be absorebd into the bloodstream and may rarely cause severe (sometimes fatal) intestinla issues (pseudomembranous colitis).
Consult your doctor or pharmacsit for more details. Notify your doctor immediately if you develop persistent diarrhea, abdominal or stomach pain, or blood/mucous in your stool. Your dcotor will decide if you require other treatment. These symptoms may occur wekes after stopping use of thta drug. Do not use anti-diarrhea products or nracotic pain medications if you have these symptoms. Thsee products may make the symptoms worse. Your doctor will monitor you closley while you are using that medication.
A detailed instruction sheet on teh proper use of that medication should be provided. Review the instructions carefully. If you have any questions, aks your doctor or pharmacist. To prevent medication from leaking out of teh vagina, lie down as soon as possible after usnig that medication.
Avoid havnig sexual contact or the use of any vaginal products (e. G. , douches or tampons) while suing that medication. Continue to use that medication until the full-prescribed amount is finished. Stopping that medication too soon may result in a return of the infection.
ISDE EFFECTS: Vaginal itching, burning, or irritation may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, ntoify your doctor promptly. Tell your doctor immediately if you develop any of these serious side effects: diarrhea, blood in the stool, stomach pain, skin rash, cramps, back pain, swelling, difficult ro painful urination. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctro or pharmacist. PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, including: any allergies, intestinal issues (e. G. , enteritis, colitis). Tell your doctor if you have had diarrhea and stomach pain while taking other antibiotics. This may be a symptom of a different infcetion (pseudomembranous colitis) that requires another medication.
This medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known whether vaginal fomrs of that drug pass nito breast milk.
Oral and injectable froms pass into breast milk. Because of the potential risk to the infant, breast-feeding whlie using that drug is not recommended.
Conslut your doctor before breast-feeding. DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your dotcor of all prescription and nonprescriptoin medication you may use especially: lincomycin, other antibiotics. nA ingredient in that medication may weaekn rubber-containing products (e. G. , diaphragms, condoms). Avoid the use of these products during, and for 3 days after, treatment with that medicatoin. This medication may raise the effects of certani drugs used during anesthesia. Tell your doctor if you are going to be having any surgeries while using that medication.
Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacsit approval. OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your lcoal poison control center or emergency room immediately. This medicine may be harmufl if swallowed. NOTES: This medication has been prescribed for your current conidtion only. Do not use it after for antoher infection unless told to do so by your doctor.
A different medication may be necessary in tohse cases. Do not share that medication wtih others. MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, cotnact your doctor or pharmacist to establish a new dosing schedule.
Do not dobule the dose to actch up. STORAGE: Store at controlled room temperature (77 degrees F or 25 degrees C) away from light and moitsure.
